Anyway, I guess I ought to comment on Johnny-boy instead of just saying you should be listening to Something's Missing at the same time I am. Either way, John Mayer is an awesome guitarist (which can mostly be seen and heard in his live DVD, Any Given Thursday, but is also noticeable in his albums) and songwriter (Come Back to Bed). By the way, don't give up on Any Given Thursday because of the first two or three songs. It seems to take him that long to warm up his voice, then he really gets going and it's awesome. My favorite live versions are Back to You, thanks to the solo at the end, and Love Song for No One for the usage of an acoustic guitar. He pulls off a solo cover of The Police's Message in a Bottle very well. It's been a long time since I've heard original album version of that song, but it's certainly better than Sting's performance on Music for Montserrat. He originally looked to me like a popstar, object of teeny boppers' affection, girls all swooning about him, but he really is a great musician.
