Dragoon This is small small part of the novel im writing Dragoon Shards of wood exploded into the still air, a cry of pain tore through the stillness, and weighed heavy on the hearts of those who heard it. A crowd of galvanized villagers watched with eagerness as the town constable broke a wooden pike over a young boy's back. The constable was only doing what was by law his job. The boy had been caught stealing food from an open market. The cry of the boy pierced the constables heart, but failed in any attempt of sympathy. For the constable had already thoroughly convinced himself, that he was in the right.. "Pike!" the constable let out a roar through his pudgy coal colored beard. A wooden pike was handed to him by the same merchant who almost had some of his inventory stolen. The merchant looked down at the boy, pitied him for only a moment, then walked away. The constable raised the pike and lashed out at the boy. It took only a few moments before the pike broke under the constable's strengh. "Lets have this here boy, one more pike! What say you?!" The crowd cheered as the final pike was handed to the constable. His face covered with sweat, and his strenght already failing, he raised the pike up for one last deadly blow. As he swung downwards the light from the sun was eclipsed by the shilouette of a man. In confusion, the constable turned to where the light should be coming from. A flash of light reflected off a metallic shaft that pierced into the bloodied dirt beside the constables leather boots. Gently landing without a sound, arose what appeared to be a man clad in a hreenish-grey armor with a helmet the shape of a dragon's-head. He lifted his visor and turned sharply towards the crowd to glower at them. He stared at them a moment longer, gathering a hidden flame inside himself. Stooping over he picked up the boy and slung him on his shoulders. ((this is where i stop the story if i get enough possitive info...((or negative)) maybe i'll post some more.)
